Elijah Casilla

Elijah is a percussionist from Portage, Indiana. While studying Percussion Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Elijah has found himself in not only classical ensembles, but many Afro-Diasporic ensembles. He is a member of the IU Latin Jazz Ensemble, Latin American Ensemble, Brazilian Percussion Ensemble, and plays percussion for Afro-Cuban dance classes. As a member of such diverse groups, Elijah has found his passion for music from all around the world. After graduating, Elijah hopes to travel internationally to not only learn other styles of music and their cultures but also teach this material to those who also have the passion to learn music from other cultures.
