Rongrong Shi

Rongrong Shi is a music therapist based in Bloomington, Indiana. She is originally from China. She started making sounds on the piano and playing tunes she heard by ear at a young age. She studied musicology in China Conservatory where she had the opportunity to learn one of her favorite Chinese instruments, Guqin. After graduating from college, Rongrong came to the U.S. and studied music therapy at the State University of New York at New Paltz for her master degree. She completed her internship at Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury in New York in 2014. She became a board certified music therapist in 2015 and relocated to Bloomington, Indiana. Since then, she has been providing music therapy services to all ages with all abilities in Bloomington and surrounding areas. After more than a decade of playing music in clinical settings, Rongrong is thrilled to join Bloomington Silk Road Ensemble. She is excited to learn, play, and share music from different cultures.

石蓉蓉是一名音乐治疗师，目前居住于美国印第安纳州。她对音乐的热爱和早期记忆追溯于自幼在钢琴上弹奏她从电视上听到的曲调。石蓉蓉本科就读于中国音乐学院音乐学专业，在导师刘勇的指导下完成了毕业论文《从文献史料看中国古代的乐器学研究》，并有幸跟随黄梅老师学习古琴。本科毕业后，石蓉蓉赴美留学，在纽约州立大学学习音乐治疗专业。她于2015年获得美国注册音乐治疗师资格证，自此在印第安纳州布鲁明顿市从事音乐治疗工作。石蓉蓉非常荣幸能够加入布鲁明顿丝绸之路乐团，她很期待与大家分享来自不同国家不同文化的音乐。
