 Amy Lidell (24) recently graduated with a bachelors degree in violin performance from the Jacobs school of music under the instruction of Jorja Fleezanis. She is the recipient of the 2014 Indiana Premier Young Talent Scholarship. As a member and featured soloist of the Violin Virtuosi (VV), String Academy’s premier performing ensemble, Amy has toured in Denmark, Sweden, Argentina, and across the United States. She appeared as a guest artist with the pyrotechnic Pianafiddle, a forerunner in the neo-improvisational movement, performing in Waukegan, IL, and Topeka, KS.  Under the direction of Henry Leck, Amy toured as a guest featured violinist with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir performing at the American Choir Association Convention in Miami, the Hilbert Circle Theater in Indianapolis, and the Governor’s Arts Awards. Amy has also performed as a guest violinist with the NOTUS contemporary voice ensemble directed by Dominick DiOrio, and has had the privilege of working with Professor Chris Raphael at the IU School of Informatics, testing and performing a variety of repertoire with the Virtual Informatics Orchestra.  In addition to her passion for the violin, Amy also enjoys music composition which she has studied with Ryan Chase, Don Freund, and P.Q.Phan.
